Introduction

Created in 1974 as part of the France-Senegal cooperation program, the École Franco-Sénégalaise (EFS) is an elementary school with around 760 pupils. It offers the French curriculum from CP to CM2 and the Senegalese curriculum from CM1 to CM2. The École Franco-Sénégalaise has two campuses in Dakar: the Fann Campus and the Dial Diop Campus. Célestine Cassambina Diedhiou, Administrative and Financial Assistant, plays a key role in the administrative and financial management of this historic establishment.

Challenges

Historically public and tuition-free, in 2014 EFS introduced major reforms including the payment of tuition fees that led to an increase in administrative burdens. This created several challenges:

  • Manual and inefficient management: Student information was entered manually, often scattered across several files, leading to errors and inconsistencies.
  • Collection difficulties: The collection of school fees lacked precision, making it difficult to access reliable financial data in real time.
  • Dependence on external management: Billing and financial management relied on an external firm, slowing down processes and limiting visibility for stakeholders.
  • Solutions provided by Eduka

    To meet these challenges, EFS turned to Eduka, and in particular to the Finance module. The Finance module has revolutionized administrative and financial management, enabling real-time monitoring of incoming and outgoing payments, and has led to the following improvements:

  • Automated invoicing: Unlike in previous years, invoicing is now carried out in-house, quickly and accurately.
  • Increased visibility for stakeholders: Parents receive their receipts on time and can view the status of their invoices and payments at any time.
  • Constant availability: Student lists and all associated information are now centralized and accessible with just a few clicks.

    Thanks to Eduka, EFS has considerably improved its processes:

  • Significant time savings: Administrative tasks are simplified, allowing the team to concentrate on higher value-added activities.
  • Standardized data: All staff members now have the same information for managing admissions, student data, and related modules such as Extracurricular Activities (ECA).
  • Enhanced parental satisfaction: Parents benefit from fast, reliable communication regarding payments and billing.

    Although the transition to Eduka initially seemed complex, the software has become an indispensable tool for EFS.
